Check ’em out!

Since I’m recovering from some surgery this week, I figured I’d give you cool cats the low-down on some other blogs and posts that talk about other fantastic and interesting things!

  1. Online Dating for the 30 yr old Heterosexual male: I love the foreign insight of being a young, committed female looking into the life of an older, single male navigating the dating system our generation has set up for him (it’s kind of like watching a mouse in a maze). Honestly, his entire blog is like a guilty pleasure for introverts because he criticizes the loss of genuine connection through this emotionless system of communication we so heavily rely on. Openness and vulnerability have become an unobtainable commodity through texting, swiping, and ghosting.
  2. OVERWATCH DEVELOPER UPDATE SPOTLIGHT: TORBJÖRN’S REWORK: I play Overwatch casually, often when there is alcohol involved and with friends who enjoy bad puns, but hardly have time to keep up with every update/change/modification/hotfix Blizzard puts out, so I appreciate the news in a clear and straight-to-the-point post! This post on a popular character that just underwent a major rework in abilities and overall play style is concise but informative and includes the actual video for reference so we can see how the changes manifest in the gameplay.
  3. CHAPTER 2: DEALING WITH A CHEATER: Despite already being in a serious relationship and having been lucky thus far to avoid severe relationship obstacles (i.e. infidelity), I still have plenty of room to be paranoid about possible future devastations, such as what to look out for and how to deal with it. The author certainly picked up on the Catch 22 of books about males written by males, suggesting the coin toss probability of their sincerity against their profitability, but it’s also good to merit valuable advice when it’s given and she certainly does that.
  4. Abby Writes Shit: An insightfully depressing collection of posts (at least at the time I’m posting this) on the less than savory Kavanaugh trial that most women, especially those who have experienced any form of sexual harassment or assault, loathed to spectate: the right to their bodies versus the dignity of a privileged and protected male. From the blog’s title to its content, the raw honesty and cutting commentary within these posts captures the points and emotions overlooked by most of the mass media sources because of the unpopularity of opinion that damages the fragile image of our waning nation.
  5. How To Be A K-Pop Idol: I would never have known what a competitive and organized madness the Kpop craze was without this helpful guide to break it down to Uncultured Swine™ such as myself. In all seriousness this was an incredibly information post that really dazzles the reader with an insight into the musical sensation of Kpop, as well as the workings behind it; the industries, the singers, and the television shows included! A well oiled machine of creative output and infamy, with a heaping side of Build-A-Band Workshop!
  6. Coffee with a side of Poetry..: The reliance on coffee, or at least caffeine in general, that most writers have is enough to base a substantial amount of success on, but this post promotes a mutual dependence with a company that sells coffee beans that have poems cached within them! Paying both the underappreciated poets, as well as the even more out-of-style editors, for their contributions in addition to publicly presenting and advertising their work is brilliant. The melodramatic atmosphere of slam poetry in a dimly lit coffee-shop is the ultimate aesthetic, now available without ever leaving the house!
